Dear Students of Library and Information Science:

We are pleased to announce that the 2007 Chinese American Librarians Association (CALA) Mentorship Program is now open for applications. The deadline is Monday, December 10, 2007.

This Program is geared toward Chinese or Chinese American students who study at the School of Library and Information Science in North America. The application form is available at:

The major goals of the Program are:

  • To help new Chinese American librarians to develop their professional careers
  • To encourage and guide students of library and information science with career planning
  • To recruit and provide a pool of experienced Chinese American librarians as potential mentors

Participants of a previous year need to fill out the form again to join this year's program. Non-members should join CALA first (see online form at: http://www.cala-web.org/forms/calamemf.htm).

If you have any questions or suggestions, please contact any of the CALA Mentorship Committee members listed below.
