Congratulations to CALA members Jia He and Desmond Wong as ALA 2020 Emerging Leader Class Participants!

The American Library Association (ALA) has selected fifty (50) people to participate in its 2020 class of Emerging Leaders. The program is designed to enable library staff and information workers to participate in project planning work groups, network with peers, gain an inside look into ALA structure, and have an opportunity to serve the profession in a leadership capacity early in their careers. CALA is so happy to see that Jia He, Cataloging/Electronic Resources Librarian at University of South Alabama Libraries and Desmond Wong, Outreach Librarian at Ontario Institute for Studies in Education (OISE) Library, University of Toronto were selected into ALA 2020 Class of Emerging Leaders after a very competitive application process. CALA will sponsor each of them $1000 respectively for their ALA Conferences attendance and professional experience.
