Details

While CALAList is still referred to by many as listserv, the list is no longer powered by the listserv software. The software that powers CALAList is EZMLM. The way members interact with the EZMLM software is somewhat different from listserv:

Subscribing/Unsubscribing

There are several ways to join or leave the CALAList list. The easiest way is to send an empty e-mail to the EZMLM subscription address: calalist-subscribe@cala-web.org calalist-unsubscribe@cala-web.org, as described in the Quick Start section of this document.

You may also specify a different e-mail address from the one you used to send the subscription/unsubscription request. To do so, send an empty e-mail to a special address:

calalist-subscribe-john.doe=domain.com@cala-web.org or
calalist-unsubscribe-john.doe=domain.com@cala-web.org

Please note that the @ in your e-mail address has been replaced with =.

You can also receive list postings in batches (this is usually referred to as "Digest Mode"). To subscribe CALAList in digest mode, send your subscription request to:

calalist-digest-subscribe@cala-web.org

If you are used to the Listserv-style commands, you can also send your subscription request to the request address:

To: calalist-request@cala-web.org
Subject: subscribe

Or, to unsubscribe:

To: calalist-request@cala-web.org
Subject: subscribe

When composing message to the list, please try to use plain text (as opposed to HTML or "Rich text") when possible. Please be sure to include an appropriate subject line.
